Cricket betting at nagad — bet on every format from T20 to Test
Popular markets for BPL, IPL and international cricket, live in-play odds, and a straightforward English guide — all in one place at nagad's cricket section.
Three cricket formats and how betting differs across them
Each cricket format has its own style of play — so betting markets behave differently in each. Understanding how to bet in each format matters.
T20 — the fastest format
With just 20 overs, results can shift quickly. BPL and IPL T20 leagues are the most popular among Bangladeshi fans. Toss, powerplay runs and top scorer markets attract the most interest here.
Quick resultsODI — the 50-over test
One-day internationals are played over 50 overs. In ICC tournaments and bilateral series, session-based markets (first innings runs, middle-overs wickets) are quite active in ODI betting.
Session marketsTest — a five-day strategy
In Test cricket, a draw is always possible, so you bet across three outcomes (Team A win, Team B win, draw). Pitch conditions and weather play a major role here.
Three outcomes
BPL, IPL and international tournaments
The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) holds a special place among local fans. Bangladesh Tigers matches in the T20 World Cup and ICC tournaments generate the most excitement. IPL also draws strong interest from Bangladeshi fans — team performances are followed closely.
Markets for all these tournaments are available in nagad's cricket section. Odds are visible before the match starts, and during the match live betting odds update every over.
How betting differs in football and other sports
Football has familiar markets similar to cricket — match winner, total goals over/under, and first goalscorer. But while cricket sees the situation change with every ball, in football the game shifts with goals and red cards.
Innings-based cricket markets (powerplay runs, partnerships, economy rate) do not exist in football. Equally, football's half-time/full-time double result market does not apply to cricket. It is worth understanding each sport's own rules before you start betting.
If you are also interested in casino games, nagad's PP Live Casino section has Pragmatic Play Live table games where you can play with a live dealer in real time.
7 popular betting markets with simple examples
The markets below are the most commonly used in cricket betting. Once you understand each one, picking up new markets becomes straightforward.
Match Winner
Which team will win the match — this is the most straightforward market. T20 has two outcomes (Team A win or Team B win), Test has three (including draw). Example: if Team A is the favourite their odds are lower, so a winning bet on Team B returns more.
Toss Winner
Which team will win the toss before the match starts — this has no connection to the result on the field. Rather than analysing pitch and weather, here the probability for each team is roughly equal.
Top Batsman
Which player will score the most runs for their team. This market is available separately for Team A and Team B. Current form and pitch type have a strong influence here.
Total Runs Over/Under
Whether the total runs in an innings or a full match will be above or below a set number. Example: line set at 160 runs — above that is Over, below is Under. Pitch conditions and the batting lineup should guide your decision.
First Wicket Falls
At what score the first wicket will fall in an innings — this is effectively an opening partnership market. When conditions favour a quick wicket, odds on this market tend to be higher.
Multi Bet
Placing multiple selections together in a single bet. All selections must be correct to win; if any one is wrong, the entire bet loses. Returns are higher, but so is the risk — more detail is in the odds section below.
Betting Exchange
On an exchange you can bet for a win (BACK) or bet against a win (LAY). When you LAY, you take on the role of the bookmaker — you win if the outcome does not happen, and you are liable if it does.
How to read odds in three formats
Example 1 — Team A win (same value in all three formats)
A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳3,000 if Team A wins (৳2,000 profit + original ৳1,000). If Team A loses, ৳1,000 is lost.
Example 2 — Team B win (favourite's odds)
A ৳1,000 bet returns ৳1,250 if Team B wins (profit of only ৳250). American minus odds (-400) mean you must risk ৳400 to make ৳100 profit.
Multi bet — a detailed example
Three selections at decimal odds of 1.50, 1.60 and 1.90 — combined odds: 1.50 × 1.60 × 1.90 = 4.56 (approximately). A ৳100 bet returns ৳456 if all three are correct. If any one is wrong, the full ৳100 is lost.
Exchange bet — BACK and LAY
BACK Team A at decimal odds 2.00: placing ৳500 returns ৳500 profit if Team A wins (before commission), or ৳500 lost if they do not. LAY Team A: liability on a ৳500 bet is ৳500; if Team A does not win you make ৳500 profit, if they do win you pay ৳500.
Team A and Team B are names used only as examples — these are not actual odds or commitments for any specific match.
Live betting — how odds shift when a wicket falls
In-play betting means placing bets while the match is in progress. Odds update after every wicket, every six and at the end of the powerplay. For example, if Team A makes a strong start, their odds of winning shorten while the opposition's lengthen.
There is little time to decide in live betting — odds can change within seconds. The advice for newcomers is to practise first in pre-match markets before the game starts.
When the run rate rises sharply in the final overs, over/under market odds change the fastest. If you want to play on mobile, the nagad App makes it easy to follow live odds.
Some practical tips for cricket betting
- Start with one format: T20 is the shortest and results come quickly. Focusing on T20 markets early helps you build an understanding of betting faster.
- Set a budget first: Decide how much you can spend before you start. Betting is for entertainment — never chase losses by placing more bets.
- Understand the market before you bet: If a market's rules are not clear to you, it is better not to bet on it. Read the terms and conditions of each market first.
- Be careful with multi bets: Returns are higher but so is the risk. One wrong selection and everything is lost. It is better not to go beyond two selections when starting out.
- Play responsibly: Betting is a way to spend time, not a source of income. Read the responsible gaming guidelines and set your own limits.
- Do not rush in live betting: Odds change fast, so placing a bet without understanding the situation increases the chance of making a mistake.
Cricket and casino — two separate experiences
Just as cricket betting calls for strategy and focus, anyone who wants a more casual experience can enjoy casino games. nagad's virtual casino section has everything from slots to table games.

What to check before a match
Before placing a bet, have a general idea of the pitch report, each team's recent form and the head-to-head record. In T20, a batting-friendly pitch increases the likelihood of a higher total.
Weather matters especially in ODI and Test matches — a rain break can change the tempo and result of a game. Keeping these factors in mind when choosing a market leads to more considered decisions.
